Roys' Austin-Healey
December 2002

December 1st

A couple months ago the editor of the local Austin-Healey Magazine came across this website. He was quite impressed at it and asked Roy to write an article not only about the website but also to discuss the "little things" that turn up when rebuilding a classic car. Roy was very honoured and is seriously thinking of doing it.

Unfortunatetly, Roy is more of a hands on man than a writer and it is for this reason that there has been very little in the ways of written text on the site. Sometimes I try to pass on what I have heard but to be honest, I don't have Roys expertise at all so I have decided to leave all the technical explanations to him. Hopefully I will be able to tie him down to a few minutes one day to do just that.

One thing I do know is that Roy was able to find a complete interior set for his car for next to nothing. He carefully put it in a box and put it out of the way to prevent any damage from happening. Unfortunately, one his Dobermans found the box, ripped it open and destroyed a couple liners before being discovered. Surprisingly, the dog is still alive.

Roy would also like to thank everyone who has been e-mailing him with comments, technical questions and just to say hi. Please feel free to send email.

These few pictures were taken just to show the progress to date.Being a body man and welder for most of his life he has been constantly touching up the smallest imperfections. If things continue on the way they have been we are looking at having the Healey on the road in a month, maybe two.More pictures will be coming.
